Mahoning Valley

Queens Village Mahoning Valley was developed out of a need to reduce the infant mortality rate in our county. Due to racial and health inequities, the Mahoning County Public Health with MY Baby's 1st Coalition and other organizations worked together to address the inequities and disparities that disproportionately affect our African American women and their families. We are committed to providing education, support, referrals and resources to help them overcome the barriers and challenges that they face daily. Having dialogue with the community members and acknowledging what the Social Determinants of Health are; we will assist the Community Advisory Board in developing strategic goals and plans to help eliminate the stressors they face and to help them achieve better birth outcomes so they may have successful pregnancies, and healthy babies. We have found a cabinet of women who have education and lived experience and can provide the support needed to achieve and perform the duties and obligations of a cabinet member.
